Imagine my surprise one day earlier this week when I got off the Tube at work around 7:30 and came up the steps to the street to hear the clipity-clop of horses. I stopped and looked and no joke, about 30-50 horses were being ridden down Oxford Street. Three across with a woman on the middle horse. Very weird. Never mind the cabs or the buses trying to get down the street. Sure, it wasn't really rush hour (most pastry / coffee shops don't open until 7:30 a.m., if that gives you a clue what time things get busy) but come on!

What I find totally weird is how all the horses look identical. Same coloring. Same size. It's like they went into Costco and got a good deal on dark chestnut horses with black manes and a little bit of white on the hooves. Yes, thanks, I'll take 50. I presume they're being used for the mounted police, but seriously . . . how did they clone them all so perfectly?
once a year in February this happens in Houston- the Rodeo trail riders make their way into Houston and ride through downtown pretty much all day through both rush hours. It makes driving anywhere a NIGHTMARE. In addition to all the horses, they have full on wagon trains too.
